A huge part of getting in shape and staying in shape is just making time in your day to exercise. Between kids, a job (or two), and all of life’s other “stuff” it can be hard to find the time for a regular exercise habit. That’s why I’m all about having systems in place to handle the more routine aspects of work. My favorite system for handling my inbox is using canned responses and smart replies in Gmail.

Smart Replies is a Gmail feature that predicts what you would like to write in response to an email that you have received and opened. It’s great for things like confirming a meeting time or simply saying, “thanks, I’ll get back to you soon.” I find Smart Replies to be a time-saver when I’m working through my inbox on my phone.
Canned Responses is a feature that is available in all Gmail accounts. It lets you create messages that you can save as “canned messages” then insert in reply to emails that you receive. It works great for quickly tackling emails that contain similar questions. For example, at the start of new school year or new semester when students and parents are asking lots of questions via email, canned responses can be a tremendous time-saver.
