Hi, I’m Richard Byrne. I’m probably best known for my award-winning blog Free Technology for Teachers and my teacher training webinars on Practical Ed Tech. And over the last 20 years I’ve taught history, language arts, and computer science. What you might not know about me is that I’m 40 44, I live in Maine, I have two daughters, and love to be in the great outdoors in all kinds of weather.
I started this project because I know that when I exercise, I feel better. When I feel better, I teach better.
To me, fitness means more than just doing physical exercise. It also means mental and financial fitness. One of the ways that I take care of all aspects of fitness is to use technology to free up time for taking care of my body, mind, family, and finances. So I’ll probably write about those topics along the way too.
This is mostly a side project from my other work of writing Free Technology for Teachers, hosting professional development webinars, conference speaking, and providing professional development services for schools.
