I created Ed Tech Fitness as a personal project but also as a way to help other educators who have an interest in improving their physical and mental health (there is often a strong connection between them) in 2019. To that end I created a Flipgrid called #edtechfitness. But I have come to realize that talking on a video isn’t for everyone. So I’ve created some other ways to get involved.
Weekly Challenges
Starting next week I’m going to post one challenge per week. These will be a mix of physical fitness challenges and mental challenges. They will have one thing to try to do every day or one thing to try to avoid every day for a week. They’re all intended to be things that we can do without being a huge interruption to our daily lives. For example, doing a few push-ups or arms circles every day. Another example, drinking water in lieu of coffee or soda pop.
I’ll post the weekly challenge here on the blog on Monday, but I will also email it to folks who subscribe to the weekly newsletter.
#EdTechFitness
Use the hashtag #edtechfitness to share your pictures, videos, or stories of what you’ve done to improve your fitness. It could be a simple Instagram picture at the top of a hike, a day kayaking, or that awesome workout that you crushed at the gym. Anyone can share. No matter how small the step, every step toward fitness improvement is a good one that should be celebrated. Use the #edtechfitness and I’ll give you a like or a share if you like.
