Thank you for your interest. As I said on the landing page, at this point it’s just an idea and I’m trying to gauge interest.
The idea is this: A small gathering (10-15 people) of teachers who want to learn about and develop new ways to use educational technology together. But it’s not for everyone. Only people who also want to spend some time biking, hiking, paddling, or doing similar outdoor activities together would want to join. We’ll spend the morning doing the learning stuff and the afternoon doing an outdoor activity together or in small groups.
Location: The Bethel Inn & Country Club is located in Bethel, Maine is an ideal location. They have adequate meeting space (and good WiFi). There are mountain biking trails and hiking trails connected to the property. The Androscoggin River is within a couple of miles and there are few companies in town that arrange paddling trips that can be done in an afternoon. There’s also a great little brewery in walking distance of the Inn.
Cost: TBD – after years of doing PD in a traditional manner, this is a new approach for me. This year, if it happens, I’d only be trying to cover expenses. My early estimate is roughly $250/person for two days exclusive of lodging.

All the best,
