This week’s Ed Tech Fitness challenge is about flexibility. We all know that it’s important to stretch and warm-up muscles before exercising, but some simple stretches done during the day can also help improve your flexibility while also providing a little “brain break” during the day.
5 Minutes of Stretching
This week’s challenge is to do five minutes of stretching at least once per day. Even if you’re not doing any vigorous exercise, try to do five minutes of stretching. And if you are doing some kind of vigorous exercise, try to get in an additional five minutes somewhere in the day.
I’m using stretches from this Yoga to Go book that I bought a long time ago. Healthline has a good suggestion of five stretches that you can do in a five minute routine.
When to Stretch?
I did my stretches this morning while watching the weather report on the local news. I’ll also be trying to do one or two stretches when I inevitably need a brain break while writing today.
